Summary
We started the business in 1991, and could never have imagined the magnitude of our efforts. We have been welcomed with open arms, and the support of several mayors. Le Touquet is essentially very anglophone, and Elizabeth's has been referred to as an institution, which is such a lovely compliment. Now, if you are interested by the business, all the ground work has been accomplished, you can only improve on our reputation.
Location
Le Touquet is essentially a select holiday ressort situated along the coast of Pas de Calais. Elizabeth's is situated in the town center, within a short walk to the beach, and close to the covered market, which is open 2 or 3 times a week.
Everything, is within walking distance, or use your bike, there are plenty of cycle paths.
Access
Le touquet, can accessed by the A16 from Calais. To find Elizabeth's simply follow the signs for the covered market, where parking is abundant outside of the market days. However, for a relatively small fee, as owner of a business, you may acquire a yearly pass which allows you to park in the town center, for unlimited time.
Interior
The tearoom includes the following;
Kitchen situated under ground
The ground floor incorporates the tearoom (seating for 30) with serving area for take-aways, a toilet for handicap customers, kitchen area for dishes, and a huge cold room.
First floor a second tearoom (with bay window), toilet, and storage room.
Second floor, living accommodation, bathroom, kitchenette, and living room
Third floor, 2 bedrooms (1 with built in wardrobes)
Exterior
Elizabeth's is situated on a main road, comprising mainly of businesses selling food, butchers, fruits & veg merchants, bakers, cheese merchants, and small restaurants. We have the 3 story building, and also a terrace which is authorised throughout the year.
Additional Details
The terrace is invoiced annually by the Mayors office. Dustbins are also supplied by the town, and are emptied 3 times each week, and every day during the summer vacation. We have an area dedicated to the dustbins and cartons situated inside the building. The pavements, are cleaned by the town with high pressure hoses every day during the holiday season, this service is included in the rates.
Revenue Generation
The business is full of potential, I wish to sell so that we can retire. At the moment we open 5 days each week outside of the school holidays, and 7 days during the school holidays. Our existing opening hours are 9 am until 6pm, and 7pm Friday, and Saturday. These hours could easily be increased, as there is the demand during summer for breakfasts, drinks to take away, and freshly made scones. Maybe even the possibility to open some evenings during the holidays, as parents don't always wish to take their children to a restaurant, they are looking for something more cosy. There are multiple possibilities, including cupcake workshops, which are lucrative, and much demanded.
